Kayenta Coal Mine

WSRI has maintained a field office employing 12 to 14 Native Americans at the Black Mesa Coal Mine for over 10 years. This crew handles many restoration projects on the mine, including the annual revegetation of 400 to 600 acres, fence installation, planting, transplanting, waterline installation, and stream channel restoration. WSRI crews handle and resolve any environmental issues as addressed in OSM weekly inspections.
